Keyfob Help

hi all
Ok I know I can get an official LR keyfob for between 50 - 100 big ones plus programming costs, so how come I can get one from fleabay for £25 ?

question is do they work

called into local indie LR shop and they wanted to know reg no, chassis no & inside leg measurement etc (oh by the way its long very long) quoted 56 to 120 plus for fob plus 20 to programme. so how come I can buy from fleabay without all these details?

does anybody have any experience of fleabay fobs - recomeded seller etc.

There are 'indies' who as part of supplying you with a fob, will also supply you with a box of tricks that connects to your diag port and program the CCU.

For that price though, they are probably just supplying you with a fob - you then have to program it somehow. I believe someone with a T4 (probably a garage) or Hawkeye (probably someone for a few beers) will be able to do this.

have seen these on Fleabay and its 60 plus 20 refundable for programmer

but do they work ?
anybody in luton/bedford area with an hawkeye?

I got a keyfob and programmed from a local locksmith for £75, took about 10 minutes.

got mine from ebay and the local landrover indi programmed it and my original one (because you you have to have all of the key fobs reprogrammed at the same time) and he charged me £40, 5 mins work for him....

i'm thinking of using these guys:

or I could take it apart resolder the battery holder back in, fit new battery and now it works
