P38A Key Problem!!

Hi All

I've just changed the batteries in my key fob and it's only gone and broke. the fob will lock the car but won't unlock, I can start and drive it so it's not too bad but I was wondering if anyone had any contacts who they had used before with regards to key repairs....... I've seen some on the bay of E but I'm not sure if they can be trusted

What else did you do as well as change batteries? I cannot see how you could possibly have done that changing batteries. Does the fob flash to lock but not when you unlock?

I had it upside down and applied a bit of pressure getting the battery cover to open..... The open button may have broken during this

It flashes to lock but does not flash when pressing unlock

@MrSporty on here can sort keys out he also has adverts of ebay, he has sorted a few from here with glowing reviews.

Maybe you damaged the micro switch. You could remove buttons have a play and see if you can get it working again. But if not confident don't do it. Normally if you lock with fob then unlock with key you get an alarmed state.

I'm not really confident enough to start messing as it may stop working altogether. Aside from taking it to a main stealer is there anyone who you would recommend to repair it ?

Forget main steeler they will just order you a new key and charge you several hundred pounds for the privilege, and new keys can only be had through a main steeler so you can not even shop around
