This has probably been asked over a million times but I will play the fool if it gets me anywhere with an answer. I purchased my '97 Disco while in Europe and have had it with me since new. I now in Canada and down to one key fob. I asked the local Landy (Ottawa, Canada) dealer about programming a new one (or two if that is what it takes, as long as I have two), but they came back with an answer that one fob would cost 371 Canadian $ (271 Euro). And they said they could not guarantee it would work - so I'd be out the $ if I tried that route. They even stated that a Diesel Landy (which I own and am probably one of 4 on the North American continent that does) has a different fob wavelength than a Petrol Landy). There has to be a cheaper & smarter way of going about this. Any ideas so I can sleep better at night? thanks

could you explain "change the unit"? I am an architect, not a mechanic, and wan to ensure I can handle this on my own or am not being ripped off if someone else does it for me.
