Hi
I only have one key + fob,The other day I nearly locked my car by accident with the key in ignition including the fob.
My question is if I had another fob that was programmed to the car would it have unlocked the door even though the other fob was inside the car.
I know this sounds silly but at the moment I cannot afford to go out and buy a new key and a fob and have them proggramed at the moment, but I can afford a new fob and have that proggramed to the car.
Thank you.

How did you do that then?

Hi Richard Martin
I put the key in ignition and my elbow must have touched the door button as the door was closing because I was standing outside the car as I was going to open my drive gates

just get a blank key cut, it will work in the drivers door lock to unlock it, doesn't need a fob or the transponder in the key. the transponder is only for the ignition.

About a month ago I had to get a taxi home - and back - to pick up my spare key/fob after locking myself out. My son suggested your idea so I went to Timpsons.
They charged £7.50 for a key that would not unlock the driver's door, took key and car back to them but they could not get the key to unlock the door so money back. If anyone succeeds with getting a simple key that works please let me know. Timpsons said the lock must detect the transponder in the proper key!!!

Hi had the same thing happen to me, got a spare key cut and it would not work, I held it up to compaire and noticed it was moor pointed at the end I simply ground the end down on a kirb stone and BINGO it worked a treet.

I needed a spare key with transponder, went to my local cobbler's he ordered a a key for next day, next day key cut and programmed it. Total time about 1/2hr job done.

illy

I tested this before on another fred. Remote locked (full alarm / volumetric / locks / superlocks) ma hippo with the bonnet open and a tie wrap on the bonnet switch to make him think the bonnet was closed. Then disconnected the battery and used the key in the drivers door and it opened.
