Well Tony tonight I took the car down to a mechanic I use ( he does hommers on the side) to have a look at my rear air bags and to give the car th once over to make sure I had not bought a heap.He was under the car said it was it really good condition for a 1996 car.Exhaust was new really clean undeneath ,said it aint been through any fields.Slight oil leak from under engine, possibly power steering fluid and mixture of engine oil but nothing to worry about ,he will check better in daylight when doing the bags at the weekend. He had a drive of it says auto box is dead smoothe and not engine noise. So all in all i'm happy .Oh he did say rear brake pipes need done but MOT aint due till Nov 2012 so no rush.So like you Tony I love driving it ( my other car is an 09 BMW 5 series ) and hope to have loadsa fun tinkering with it.170,000 miles on the clock and like the mechanic said many cars are scrapped at 1/3 of that millage.Ps I love this Forum

Absolute cracker for you, partner called me at work to ask if ok to use range rover today as the air suspension had dropped.I sais yeah just turn it on and let tick over for 5 mins till it lifts .So away she goes ,calls me back 30 mins later from the shops ,cant get the engin to start.I think **** the key fob has goosed again, so I give her the 4 left 5 right palaver,.nah still no luck it wont start , so now she's shouting at me down the phone '' I should have kept my mini cooper'' So I drive 30 miles home from work pick her up from the house as she had to walk home ,drive to the jeep press the remote open the door to find she has it in D (DRIVE) I pop it into park turn key and she fires up. And guess what she aint even blonde hahaha
