This side of there..
I have done 70k in my p38 and had more than a few problems that I fixed myself or with the help of this site. (Many thanks)

In February 2013 I was forced to buy a new flick out key fob for £155.42 from guy salmon,
And all was well until this weekend. (18months later.)

While 200 miles from home the unlock button stopped working. Just like that.
On investigation the unlock micro switch had come away from the printed circuit board and was rattling around loose in the fob....bugger, I thought. After taking the fob apart and sellotaping it all together so I could get home, I called guy salmon and was told warranty is 12months, new one £160, do you one for £148.
As a qualified electronics engineer I know my fob was a Friday afternoon job...or the fob production line person was texting, sneezing, cleaning their glasses etc
Or designed to come off after a small amount of use or as soon after 12months as possible.
I then called land rover direct and was reminded of the 12months warranty... Then told to go back to guy salmon.
Stuff goes wrong sometimes... If something I made goes wrong because I didn't do it right I accept responsibility, within a certain time.
18 months is not long for a key fob costing 155 quid but according to land rover that's just the way it is.
Land rovers - fantastic, customer care post 12 months - crap.
Just don't expect too much...I just hope the sellotape holds for another 10 years.

Doesn't look too bad! A few fresh solder joints or micro switches will see it sorted!

Pish customer care/service though :(

It's not just Guy Salmon. many main dealers are cack these days, they try to make their money on parts and servicing with car sales profits cut to the bone.
