I'm new to Land Rovers having just bought a 2007 Freelander 2 which has only done 37,000 and is in very good condition. However when I push the key fob in its 'socket' most of the time it unlocks the steering (which you can hear) and then gently ejects itself! It can take 3 attempts to make it stay in or it will do it first time, there is no pattern. I have tried pushing it in both slowly and quickly, neither seems to make any difference. Has anyone else experienced this and can the problem be fixed?

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. Yes the surround is lit up when the fob is doing its in and out trick - does that mean anything? I will also talk to my local garage and see if I can get a faults read and see if that highlights anything.
I have looked through a lot of past posts but it doesn't seem to be a common problem - maybe I'm unique!!!!
Thanks again for your posts.
