key code lockout, comes on without me trying the eka code!!!

Hi,

I have a 95 range rover 4.0, the battery went flat for the first time over the weekend, Ive charged the battery and refitted it.

My problem is it wont let me try to put the eka code in, it instantly comes up with key code lockout, which I thought is supposed to come up when I failed the eka code 5 times.

Confused, any help appreciated.

leave it with the battery connected for a hour or so and then try again.
If it still says lockout,the BECM may have gone into alarm mode.Which means it will have to be removed and sent to be unlocked and reset.

Hi,

They were my thoughts on the ride in to work this morning, good advice, it worked a treat, I went round 2 hours later and the code went in 1st time.
