Just wondering... when my keyfob battery is changed, imminently, does this potentially open that proverbial can of worms... Key will no longer be recognised, etc? I THINK that being a 2000 model, the key should "sync" when inserted in ignition barrel, or am I just being far too optimistic? Happy Sunday afternoon!

If battery low is shown as long as you fit new batteries within one minute of removing the old ones no resync should be needed.

I was getting the key battery low warning, one of my new batteries was showing only 1.5v . If you need a resync just put the key in the lock press and hold lock whilst turning key to lock, press unlock button and turn key to unlock.always worked for me. Mines a 98 so doesn't have the coil around the ignition key.

I have a 2000 and one fob syncs when put in ignition the other is different(see my post syncing key fob P38). Don't know why this is but I have 2 working fobs
As wammers says have new batteries ready and change within 60 seconds and no problems. Check new batteries first as I and one or two others have had problems with new batteries lately

Might be worth clearing the RF memory. My key 4 won't sync until car has been opened with key 1. I keep meaning to try it but never get around to it.
