Good evening, I've not long moved to Kent from the West Country and as far as I understand the vast majority of the greenlanes in the County run on a permit scheme, are the lanes worth applying for the permit for access to them? I'm looking for lanes to just amble along on and just enjoy the driving as we've enough tracks and lanes on the estate full of deep ruts and mud holes to push both my D90 and her truck to there limits but not many you can just relax and drive!!

Yeah that would be ace, my landy's off the road at the moment but should road legal in two/three weeks so I'll let you know as soon as it is, thanks!!

Won't be able to do anything till end August now but will pencil something for then. Couple of us heading up to East Anglia to do Thetford forest this Saturday, then Billing Sunday if anyone wants to join us for either of those.

Let me know how you get on in Thetford. Going to go up there for the weekend in Oct. looking to go round Thetford\Diss\Bury St Edmunds... Seems to be quite a few lanes up there!

Count me in, I've a leaky expansion tank at the moment but it didn't stop me getting back from Bristol so shouldn't present any problems for a bit of laning. Do they close a lot of the lanes around this way then?

Hiya - sounds like a plan, but I'm on hols for next 2 weeks and then hoping to get to the adventure overland show at the end of the month. When do the lanes close?
