keeps braking speedo cables

i have fitted 2 new speedo cables and they both have broken after about 17 miles has anyone got any ideas ?

where abouts have they broken? both in the same place?

no, one broke on the m6, the other on the a152.

3 have broken altogether first at the gearbox other two at the speedo end
