Help!

My Freelander had it's head gasket replaced following a breakdown (I had the head pressure tested and it passed) and ever since has been reluctant to start. It turns over for ages before it eventually fires but once the engine is warm it runs and starts fine. The original garage think it might be the fuel pump and another that it might be the starter motor but I'm sure it must be connected with the original gasket problem.

I can't afford to keep replacing bits at Landrover prices!

Has anyone had a similar experience?

it could just need a new battery, all the amps going to the starter and none left for the ignition, try charging overnight or jump starting from cold and see if this makes a difference.
