hi just put a 300 tdi out of a 1996 disco into my defender it beats my old 19j engine hands down its nice to keep up and overtake on the motorway:welcome2:smokes a little but engine not been run for 5 months is it normal

i used to have an 88 E reg 19j td,i put a disco 200tdi in and couldnt believe how much more powerfull and quiter it was.
your engine might have had the fuel pump turned up that could be what the smoke is if its black
