Well as I write this thread I'm sitting in a car park waiting for the AA to come get me. Popped the bonnet and the top of the radiator is split in 2. I assume this is normal thing to happen? Is it a tough fix? And what are radiators going for?

Thanks in advance

easy to get the rad out,, a new one from a stealer is about £300 i think as the local parts company want £250.. dontbe tempted to buy a second hand one..

great looks like fun, ordered new rad from island 4x4 and ordered a new water pump too. trying to get the rad out now. do i need to get the viscous fan off to get the rad out or is there another way? RAVE says i do but it also says i need a magical tool to do so.

just pop the clips and push the cowling over the fan to get the rad out, but if your going to get the water pump off then you will need to get the fan off anyway. I bought the tool, there is a pattern available for about £30, well worth the money. you could try using a viscous fan tool from Halfrauds (£10) and whacking it with a hammer to loosen it. You dont say if its a V8 or diesel? the threads on the viscous fan vary, RAVE said mine was a LH thread but it was actually a RH thread. Best way to tell is to see which way the engine turns, undo will always be the reversal.

Ok so here's the story this far, rad is now out and so is the intercooler intercooler seems to be uprated not sure you tell me, i also noticed a small crack on one of the welds which would explain why im gettting a lot of dirt in oone side of the engine bay.

you will also notice from the pics that radiator is cracked on the top

my next question is i have to get the water pump out now while im waiting on the new radiator. where is it and how do i get it out? Rave is a bit vague. do i have to remove the viscous? or am i blind? is the viscous attatched to the water pump? HELP NEEDED!! lol

The water pump is behind the viscous fan, the waterpump pulley is the one mounted behind the fan.
