P38A Jump Lead Connectors

Hi all,

Has anybody come across jump leads with the sort of connectors in the attached image?

Or better still does anybody know where I could get a set of these connectors/plugs?

Seen something similar in use on refrigerated trailers.I was going to hard wire the female connection under the front bumper on the Classic I owned and fit the male to a heavy set of jump leads.Never got around to it as I got T boned by a car salesman in an Escort.His fault, I drove home but not a wheel on his car turned it was so squashed.

Look for anderson connectors, it's what they use on fork trucks for charging. I think they'll be a bit more substantial than the ones in your pic.
I take it you want to wire in an external jump point?
Andersons would be perfect for this.

More or less. I want to make about a 3m extension, hence wanting to know where I might be able to get my hands on another set of these connectors. It would be a lot kinder on the wallet. These connectors seem to be up to scratch too.

So it needs to be the exact same ones? Like I said, anderson plugs are brilliant and almost indestructible. Forky drivers throw them all over the place. They're cheap and available in many current ratings.
By the way, don't forget to take volt drop into account when sizing your cable up if you're making long leads. I know 3m isn't massive but at 500 amps plus starting current, a few millivolts per amp per meter can soon add up and leave you with less voltage than you'd like!

How about Farnell or RS? Guess Maplin might have something similar.

Google remote battery terminals or Anderson connections I did last week and one company sells made up jump leads but can't remember who
