A return to the 'straight six'

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/electric/land-rovers-newest-engine-400bhp-straight-six

So life in the old internal combustion engine yet, albeit a modest 3.0l not 4.2l....

Always loved the old 4.2 six, with the 3 SU's in the old E type. Cylinders like buckets.

I was just looking at a big Nissan 4.2ltr TD42 engined Patrol, hugely strong engine and axles, even Toyota did a big 4.2ltr 1HD-T straight six.

I find it interesting that Nissan and Toyota went so far as to offer transverse lockers as standard while Land Rover perpetuated the same old 3.54 open Rover diffs from the 1970s era Range Rover.
