Hi new to the forum. Just finishing a complete rebuild on a series 3 with a j19. Engine has had multiple new items, pistons, bearings, injectors etc but I can’t eliminate a loud (like someone hitting the block with a hammer loud) coming from lower down the engine. It increases with rpm, is there all the time, but it is at about 1/4 of the engine rpm. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? I have heard faulty oil pumps might cause this? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
