No where sales shaft seals that I can find. everything a bit basic here. the dealer has nothing for Defenders as it's all range rovers now.

BUT possibly the leak has slowed as there was no fluid in the tray under the car this morning.

will go for another drive today and double check.

going for the test Sunday morning, first thing, I will either close off the PAS system between the pump and the res or drive there with everything connected and then take off the belt and put it through without water / alt / PAS.

here's another quick one for you guys... the test is done on a rolling road, but as far as I remember it's just two wheels which i have always been told is a big no no for land rovers. Yes?

Just took the test.

It was a two wheel roller but I just had to deal with it. Nothing else available. It was very low speed to just check breaks. So I'm not going to think about it.

The steering box was leaking like a trooper and I had no time to remove the belt or change the pipes. Gave it a quick wipe before driving in. Then was told to go to a different lane which meant full lock and more leaking.

After the rolling road you drive over a pit an I actually managed to get to the steering before him and wipe it clean.

All passed!

Even more amazing when you discover you've only got one windscreen wiper on as you forgot you took the other off last week. Doesn't really
Matter as there is no motor or rack under the dash.

Happy days. The British MOT will be a shock.

Should have pulled the prop for 2 wheel rollers but as you say low speed short duration.

Good news.

My berlingo walked british mot on friday with a leaking pinion seal on rack. Very obious as sub frame covered. So im happy. Mean i can change my self at a later date.

How did you end up out in oman ? You working out there ?

Was working out here for 3 years. Then changed jobs and working internationally. Keeped base of operations in Oman till the rent drys up. Which will be at the end of this month. Hence wanting to get things sorted or a drive back to the uk.
