It belongs to a mate of mine, and he just doesn't use it anymore, it's been offered to me for a <very> reasonable price.

He bought it recon from Liveridge 4X4 about 6 years ago, all the oily bits and bodywork reconed about 6 years ago, and since then dry garaged, waxoyled last year. It's a hardtop / van bodied one on a 'P' (96 or 97)

I'm looking at it on Saturday, and chassis and bulkhead permitting, I'll bite his hand off.

It's going to be used as a workhorse for a year or two, towing a 2.5T trailer, after which a rotten diesel disco will be purloined and made to give up its delights.

Unless you come up with some steadying advice.

i had one for a bit pulled 2 tun easy , bit thursty but i managed ok with it , used it as a tractor really , not as much power as me diesel but a nippy motor when it was empty

dunno , mine were a 89, Lr 90 think the MOD still have petrols? his prob 110 is it? yer right ,the year dont sound correct? yer never kno tho

I know the motor's wrong for the year, I think it was put together to his spec by Liveridge. (I know, I know, a 2.5 petrol, he must be mad (At this price I think he is)) I'm taking a wooden mallet, a torch, and the cash on Saturday morning.

It will have a diesel lump once I've got a bit of spare time.

Well, 've only bloody well gone and bought it. Chassis and bulkhead are sound, rear X member needs a wire brush and a coat of waxoyl, and the job's a good un.

It really is a parts bin special. Series door tops, 2.5 petrol, when it had a diesel originally (At least the swop back will be easy to do) and a positively mint interior.

Oh, I nearly forgot £500 :D

Expect many, many questions.

I plan to basically use it as a workhorse for a year or so, (We're converting a barn, and it'll stop me using the other cars for towing / humping crap back and forth) if I stumble across a disco within the year for the right money it might get brought into the 20th century, with the 200 / 300tdi and PAS. Otherwise it'll have to wait until we've finished building. After the year's up, I'd like to run it as a 'fun' car for laning (Or whatever the Scottish equivalent is) and general winter / dogsbody use with some meatier wheels and tyres. It needs a dog guard, and I'd like some spots and an A bar, but really that's about the limit of my aspirations.

For now....
