hi all,

just writing up what ive done today, since ive owned my td6 ive had a misfire which i bargin'd down the price on, (thinking it was just a loom issue), it always said hdc inactive on startup, also when coming off the brakes and starting the move slowly the car shook like mad especially in reverse!, (gave me the impression the misfire was being transmitted through the drivetrain) ,
anyway on saturday at a wedding the RR would not start(embarrasing) turned over a bit slower than normal, tried jumping it from another car with no joy.
eventually had to phone for help from step-father to come and rescue me. he turned up ,turned it over but i had completely flattened the battery, lifted up the bonnet and connected the jump leads, thats when he noticed the positive leads were resting on the negative terminal effectively shorting it, he tied them back fired up his van gave it a couple of minutes then fired mine up.
it burst into life straight away no warnings on the dash except the air suspension which he reset turning the steering lock to lock, AMAZINGLY the misfire stopped, the shakes on pull off stopped, it is once again silky smooth, AMAZING!!!!! .
my step dad believes the shorting was causing an electrical fault giving me the issues i had, and heres me getting ready to pay £££££ for diagnostics etc,

RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you looked like a cock for a few minutes, but you got a discount RR. Can't bemoan that too much can you?
