This morning I decided it was time to swap the EAS valve block for a 'new' one. Ebay strikes again! All went well and when I started the engine up it took it's normal lengthy time to inflate the bags, but inflate they did with no EAS fault.
So I then got the Faultmate out to do a check and this showed that the Front Off Side sensor is faulty! BUT it doesn't come up as a fault on the message centre.
So I now have a faulty sensor which I didn't have when I last did a check with Faultmate less then a week ago.
So the question is can the 'new' valve block introduce a sensor fault, which I think not. Incidentally the omens are good so far in that the car has stayed at the correct ride height since the engine was turned off and the doors closed.
This was the prime reason for exchanging the valve block as with the old block the car would click to itself and slowly end up on the bump stops unless the tailgate was left open! On odd occasions the car would rise to the top of it's settings when left and at other times would sink at the front or back depending on how it felt! I'm sure there is a leak in one of the valves, something I will look at in doors!
As I said now it stays level even if any of the doors are opened and closed, but I have this curious Faultmate message of a faulty sensor! The height reading are little strange with the 'faulty' sensor reading low. I wonder whether I should try and force change the settings? Guidance on how to do that with Faultmate would be appreciated as I can't seem to get the settings to 'take'
Sorry about the rambling nature of the post!
Thanks again one and all,
Ian
