Whoo-frickin-hooo!
My 3.9 fired up today for the first time in two years (and the first time in my 90).
I have a quick question for you all before i finish the install.
I have fitted an electronic oil pressure gauge with a transducer that had a broken sender pin (threaded sender) I soldered the inner wire to the threaded shaft as this looked to have been done (judging by the broken off bit).
Now i saw NO oil pressure for the moments (3-5 seconds) i had it running but i guess my sender is shafted. I mean the needle didnt move at all even during cranking).
But my REAL question is priming the oil pump.
I made a tool and fitted it to my drill and spun the pump with the dizzy removed. I got no sense of the drill struggling (18v Worx cordless).
I had it spinning for a good 5 minutes and still nothing.
So..shall i sacrifice my sump of new (fuchs) oil and prime the pump with vaseline? (if so is there a guide to doing this as i have no idea only having heard about the procedure).
Change the oil gauge sender in case it is duff?
carry on drilling until the cows come home?
or all of the above.
I dont want to shaft the bearings with them being dry.
Cheers in advance.
