G Day,
just purchased a 1998 freelander that wont go,preivous owner had a reco engine fitted 6 months ago, it ran fine for 5 months then just stopped. Local mechanic sent the computure to be checked came back fine, he then done the injectors and pump, they were fine, then he done the foel pump in the tank,replaced with a new one, still wont go,called in auto electrcian, could not find the problem.Car then sat for two weeks,I got it home charged battery it started, ran for about an hour in the shed everything fine,drove arond backyard car just stopped now wont go.any ideas.

Well, that does sound electrical to me. I suggest that with the ignition on, each pin on the ECU is checked, with reference to the circuit diagram, to make sure it has a believable voltage on it. I'd say that either you have a connector thats shot or theres a break in the wire loom somewhere. Seen it before on here and its normally due to chaffing of the loom.
