Without getting an engineering report and I don't think that will help at all, you have not a chance in getting them to acknowledge any fault ...
Put it down to experience and have another scotch ... hope it's a good single malt ...

Repair to an old Defender with your supplied parts doesn't seem to have a lot to do with Land Rover does it? Dealer's work, dealer can answer for what was or wasn't meant to be done 2 years ago and whether it was the parts or the labour or whatever that has now failed? .....think you'll have quite a 'discussion' on your hands, but if they were supposed to do something and didn't then hope you get somewhere..... Getting angry and giving people bollockings doesn't work in real life. Keep the relationship with the dealer will be better for you long term

Yeah this is far too true. That said I shant be going back to LR for anything. Ever. However that said sometimes it does work, should see my mother in action, she could return melted snow to an eskimo.

Local garage is Gigglepin and for the most part they have been pretty awesome and I do trust them to carry out the work asked of em. Plus lovely chaps to speak to anyway.

I admit I fu cked up and have learnt from it, does mean I get a shiny new gearbox :D well loss of cash but just means a few things are delayed...

How do you know that they didnt fit the spigot bush and release bearing , as they would be easy enough to fit if they changed the flywheel and clutch , on many engines the bush/bearing is fitted in the flywheel anyway.

Might be a good idea to get the facts established before thinking about giving people a bollocking , as a smack in the mouth sometimes offends :)
