Hey folks been away from land rovers for a while now last one was a mk1 discovery but thinking of buying a 110 in the near future was wondering if its possible to fit a 3.1 isuzu engine and the auto box to a 110 purely for the power and reliability they still pull at 60 mph unlike my old 200tdi had to carefully plan any overtaking.I would be getting a garage to fit it if its possible so would it be worth it or is it going to cost to much i already have a low milage imported trooper so i have all the parts just the labour to fit and any modification needed to the 110.Any one done it any advice appreciated.

If you're planning on keeping the vehicle long term stick with a tdi. You can put the jap lump in but it'll cost you for the conversion bits and when it goes wrong it'll cost you even more.

Owned mine 5yrs 285k never let me down just serviced regular these lumps are reliable smooth and powerful good on fuel better than my last 200 tdi and cheap to repair if they ever break down thats the reason i was considering it.

That 3.1 Isuzu motor is a cracking engine, they do monster mileages if well cared for and concerns over parts costs are not too much to worry about as you won't often need them. The main problem is converting everything, If you can find everything you need. It's a lot of work.
