Is this the correct fan cowl?

I picked this up recently as the fan cowl was missing off my Series 3.

The seller said that this came from a 2.5NA vehicle. However, it looks identical to the ones I have seen on other series vehicles.

Is it better to have it fitted or not? It seems like it woud make it very difficult to get to the fan and alternator belts if it was fitted.

helps cooling, but under normally circumstances you can manage without in the uk

Took mine off many many years ago....PITA to get at the fan belt with it on...no cooling issues...and I now run with no engine fan.

the only time i found cooling issues with a series 3 was in the south of france , it ran just shy of boiling more or less all the time , the fix for that was putting in a restrictor between thermostat housing and bypass, later 2.5s came like that as std
