Hello!

I know maybe I should put my first post in the 'introduce yourself' bit, but didn't see the point been as I have an actual question too :p

I know there is loads and loads of stuff regarding wiper issues but basically I can't work out which bit needs changing?!?

Both wheel boxes were seized so I've replaced them no worries. Now though, fast setting doesn't work.. Or if it does it's reet slow. But also, the wipers don't fully return to where they should do, bout 3 or 4 inch too high.

So.. Is that the motor or the park switch... Or both. Difference of a £10 or £40 so be nice to get it right.

Lastly, can the motor (I know the park switch can) be changed in situ without removing whole dash, cable, wheelboxes... Just been through that. Not keen to do it again in a hurry. Fiddly fiddly fiddly.

Mine is an old girl, so only has 2 settings.. Normal & fast, no intermittent.

Cheers in advance folks. And hello again from deepest darkest mizzle ridden Kernow :)

repositioning the wipers manually makes no difference. They not returning properly to the place they start at if that makes sense...

Hmm, dunno about stalk cause sometimes Fast setting does work, it just isn't fast! Either slow, sort of juddery or not at all. Would it work at all if stalk was knacked?

sounds like the park switch. re speeds, you can upluf the stalk and bridge the wires to see if it's the stalk or not.

i think i'd whip the motor out first and see if it needs lubing or if something a bit seized.

My last one did that on the fast setting too, then one day it just started working again. No idea what was up with it

Can the wiper motor be taken out without messing with cable and wheel boxes?? ie taking the dash out?

i'm guessing a 1985 110 with 200tdi conversion :D

Bingo! Well done :) She has no dash mods.

Have looked at the guide. And good as it is, it does talk about removing motor, cable, wheelboxes as one.

Removing cable from motor then reattaching in situ looks like it might be tricky but I'll figure it out though... Hopefully! :D
