Is the turbo gone

hi guy's was out in my defender td5 today and it was gutless at medium to high revs and began to hold back as if it was being starved of fuel am thinking the turbo, it was going through fuel like hell. Any ideas?

sounds like a throttle sensor or mass air flow sensor give ratty a shout he's the hexpert on td5's

it seems to be ok low to medium revs and trying to get it above 60mph is a struggle.

my td5 is a lot like that at times but would say its more likely to be elctronic than the turbo could be the turbo waste gate

sounds like i need a mechanic then........... I recently fitted a new intercooler and fuel regulator but what i am beginning to ask myself has this been the under lieing problem as the cost is mounting up for this niggle.
