Hi had timing belt done on a 200tdi and now the engine seems quieter new to this defender game so was wondering can this happen or is it just my imagination.

My 300tdi was the same. I changed the belt after a land rover independent did it, and it was far smoother after doing it myself. I think when the timing is a tooth out causes this.
