hi ,wondering if anyone could shed any light on this, for a while now i've had a metalic rattle on the car,the best way i can describe it is like imagine theres a loose metal ring on the propshaft ,i've looked underneath and couldn't see anything,i only hear it when the car is moving,on the odd occasion when i put it in reverse i hear it very briefly as i engage the gear, which made me think gear box, clutch area, but i've had a new clutch in two weeks ago and did the clutch cylinders yesterday but it's still there, and also when i rev the engine while in neutral theres a different rattle that i think is coming from the ird,if the ird is knackered is it a big job to change, thanks in advance

If your in neutral the IRD is not doing anything - so it won't be anything to do with moving parts in the IRD.

Might be a loose bracket holding the IRD to engine - or more likely the lower engine mount which fixes to the IRD bracket.

Probably nothing to do with IRD, but not sure wot though.
