Dear All,

I have had a Landrover all my adult life and I am now 66. I started with a Series 1, then a 109" LWB 'toastrack' with Perkins 4203. Then a Disco with 300 TDI. Best of all was my 2011 Defender 90" bought nearly new. That was stolen by our dear and beloved friends. I am now on a D2 with TD5 engine and R380 which I hope is less attractive to steal.

I 'do' tanks and tank transporters mainly involving the REME Museum. As well as being my day to day work horse, the Disco is used for escorting the tank transporter. The Transporter runs at up to 100 tons gross train weight and 13' wide when moving the Conqueror ARV.

I have quite a good machine shop with a bigger lathe, little lathe, milling machine, and MIG, TIG & gas welding etc.

I am located in Horndean, Hants between Petersfield and Portsmouth.

Hi and welcome, i am ex RE, just a pity you and your workshop are so far from me. I would love to use the lathes etc,my job on leaving the forces.

Hi and welcome!

I recall a Defender 90 from the Horndean area getting in the last year or so. Grey in colour with escort vehicle decals if I remember rightly. Sorry to hear it was stolen.

Knapster,

Yes that was my 90. It was stolen by our dear and beloved friends and broken up near Odiham. It was stolen on the Thursday and the police raided the sight on the Monday but there was hardly anything left.

I decided to get a Disco because it is far less attractive to steal. I still miss the 90 and I cannot buy a new one. Perhaps I should have bought another 90 straight away but inserted hidden security features into the engine management system.
