Hi guys, im having an issue with my series 3 where when its cold starting, i need to pour petrol into the carb by disconnecting the fuel line and pouring a bit in. For some reason priming the fuel pump doesnt work but when i take out the fuel line, petrol flows pretty well. Pressing the accelerator a couple of times before starting also does not fix the issue. However once the car has warmed up, it runs and starts fine. I'm thinking its something with the carb. Anyone have any ideas?

(weather is currently 35C where im from so i dont think thats the issue haha)

Thanks

Are you using it every day? I find the petrol in the carb evaporates away in hot weather after a few days if you don't use it, making it harder to start. I have considered fitting an electric fuel pump to overcome this but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Welcome to the zoo toolbag of information. Sounds like your carbs the problem. Two jets serve the fuel going in idle and open. Worth giving them a clean and pop across to the series section for better advise.
