Intermittent window/washer

Hi all.
I have a small annoyance with my 'Andy the Landy' Freelander 1 1998,
It has an intermittent boot window and washer/wipe fault that I can't seem to solve.
I've checked from the switches through to the door but I can't find the Gremlin....
Any other ideas

The motor can mess about sometimes and the cables can crack in flexible cable trunking. The relay can play up too.
Are you sure the window is going back up? If the CCU doesn't think the rear window is up, it stops the rear wiper from working.
