Intermittent Turbo

Some days it goes like a rocket, some days I wonder if it's working at all.
I do not have a boost gauge. I also know nothing about the turbo and it's parts.

What can I check for problems? I did start to think that the turbo only seemed to worked on a cold engine but not too sure now as two days a go it went like a rocket and it was up to temperature. Yesterday I could hardly feel it boosting. Puzzled.

it could be the the pin in the fuel pump starting to seize up

just whip it out and give it a clean.. nothin' to lose

I've checked all the hoses and everything seems fine. I will give the intercooler a clean in the next week.

I am now starting to wonder if the problem is nothing to do with the turbo now. After driving today I feel like maybe the brakes are sticking. I had the window down and now and again I heard a distinct clack noise when I pressed the brake. It sounded like it was coming from the front right wheel. I could also feel a little kick on the pedal at the same time as the noise.

How do you check if they are sticking?
