Help... When I set my wipers to intermittent the stop half way across for a few seconds b4 ressuming...help..

Dont drive in the rain

on my old car they went like that but only on intermittent then they would not work on intermittent I put it down to the wiper ecu which incorporated into the fuse box under the dash right hand side.

I would check out this thread as a starting point, looks like the grease contaminating the internal contact points on the wiper motor can cause the issue you're describing:

its a very easy fix well mine was ,look throw my posts and theres a post with pics on it

if you take the motor out and open it up ,inside theres 2 meltal prongs that either need to be re bend so they sit correctly on the cog ring or like mine was ,the plastic part of my cog ring had a small melt hole in it from the metal prongs ,i just took the cog out ,melted a little bit of a zip tie into the hole to fill it,gave it a quick sand to get smooth and level again ,resealed the unit with sealant ,refitted and spot on working again

could be the resin over the connectors that's cracked and letting water in, if you search me I did a post with pics, but on eBay a new motor is any £46 ish

must admit I bought a second hand motor and was really easy to change

hardest bit was getting the little screws out , lol

like I said mine old one went that way what I did not say was I replace the motor and it was still the same.

mine went like that and I bought a replacement motor from Island 4x4 in Kent,All it was with postage was £36.
It is very easy to fit

Mine was like that when I bought the car and after stripping it down and cleaning it was still the same. Someone here suggested in another thread that if it was used it would come all right by itself.
Surprisingly it did too but then living in Northern Ireland it gets used a lot.
