For the last couple of weeks (fortunately just after the MoT), the left indicator has become intermittent. It's as if it's not receiving power. It used to be that I could jiggle the steering wheel to get it working, but for a few days last week, it refused to operate at all. The right is working perfectly.

I don't have an exploded diagram of the indicator mechanism, but am I right in thinking that the circuit is completed when a contact is pressed against a live source? The problem seems to occur mostly when the car has been left in near-zero temperatures overnight.

Thanks for your help!

do the haxards all work - if so then the relays, fuses & bulbsa are probably OK and it's likely to be a problem with the indicator stalk.

CHeapest option is to remove it from the steering column and give the contacts a good clean either with really fine wet 'n' dry or contact cleaner spray. If that doesn't sort it then a replacement is needed
