Hi there I'm having an intermittent problem which seems to come from the front right it grinds and lags then it will pull to right and I have to battle with it, any ideas? Please

defo front inner wheel bearing collapsing happend on me on motor way with car trailer on shot to the left massive grinding noise and nearly had the trailer over i had a disco on the back was very lucky as i managed to control and come off exit.dont drive it it will just go you will think the bloody wheel is about to drop off.**** me rite up.

Thanks everyone, is it a fairly straight forward job to do

yeah its fairly straight forward to do, just buythe gear from somewhere like paddocks and dont forget all the bits, maybe better to buy a full kit rather than just bearings, i think in the kit you will get gaskets, lock washers, hub seal and bearings you will also need a hub nut socket or box spanner, 51 or 52 mm from memory.

there are plenty of write ups on how to do it around on the web and even on this site somewhere, take a look at Busters how to's he covered it, his is for a defender but its the same near enough for a disco, my first time it took about 2 hours i think, but the more you do the faster you get, im down to about 45 mins a side now if i have to.

good luck, you will probably have to nip it up in the next few weeks after doing it the first time as gauging the right nipping up pressure is a bit of an art but really its very straight forward.
