I have 2003 Td5 110 165000KMS excellent vehicle Dastek chip. Cracked head replaced 1 year ago. Recently started intermittent episodes of "missing". Not like a single cylinder is misfiring but as if the the ignition was turned on and off in a fraction of a second. May do it once in a day or 50 times on a 200 km run, or not at all for a week. Occasionally so bad that engine light goes on and engine stalls, but immediately restarts!

Have replaced injector wiring loom ( though no oil showing at ECU plug)

replaced fuel pump

checked all wiring connections

no fault codes on the computer

love this vehicle and engine but need help here!!!

Crankshaft position sensor... turbocharger wastegate modulator/pipes around there. The best thing is to watch live data while running and see which elements are suffering then... if u can get hold of a hawkeye or nanocom for that. These intermittent faults are the meanest.

First thing i would do is check the relays & associated wiring under the drivers seat, they are a common problem & give the faults you have described.

Thanks guys, CPK was changed, no fault codes recorded even with live testing, have changed the throttle position sensor 3 days ago and so far no problem , keeping my fingers crossed!
