Here's one for you - Intermittent Accelerator Response. Car is Freelander 1, Synergy 2A with MAF and Interior switch, EGR removed.
This car is very nippy, it flies up to 90mph all good until recently. Symptoms: Intermittently the accelerator loses all response for 1 to 10 seconds and then it's away again. The accelerator position is lost for a few moments, that means sometimes you can lift off the pedal but the car carries on driving for a few seconds until it has caught up with itself and decides what to do. Error codes - None.
Whether the Synergy (Ronbox) is switched on or off makes no difference.
At the same (probably) time the plip (door lock fob) suddenly takes 5 or 6 presses to unlock. Locking is always first time. I think all this is the same fault. Over to you.

Dodgy earth?
Assuming the two issues are connected that is, might not be tho as the locking issue is when stationary and ignition off.
Maybe a faulty throttle position sensor if the issues are separate.

Hi, thanks for answering. Yes, that's what I was thinking, this is a connection issue. Quite a few years ago I had a rough tick-over on an old Vauxhall then it ran perfect then not etc. It turns out the 'box of tricks' was not mounted correctly. I tightend one mounting screw and replaced another missing screw - job done. Electrical noise causing the electronics to become all confused. I'll see if there are any more ideas before I dig everything out.
Thanks.

here's some info (pics) re. the throttle position sensor

and there's evidently a sensor on the clutch to prevent surging

Are they also to do with cruise control at all?
the hall effect sensor on the clutch supposedly is ..
'xcept .. only the auto-box FL1 had the c.c.option ..
though .. be an outfit .. i think in Birmingham .. that makes c.c. units for manual box vehicles

News just in...
My wife uses this car and she reports that yesterday it drove "Absolutely prefect". We all know this won't last. Detecting intermittent faults, one of our great pleasures in life (Maybe not)?
