After a few days sat starting is sometimes difficult.
It's like it's not getting fuel but after a few turns fires up.
300tdi, mechanical fuel pump, rebuilt head, all good for fuel supply and heat plugs.
However as mentioned it seems to not like being sat for more than a week...
Any ideas?

That doesn’t sound too bad to be honest, I have a different engine and which turns over at least four or five times when for a couple of weeks before it fires, but thats only 2 or 3 seconds which is exceptabe.

But then if the starting becomes intermittent at any time day or night and your D1 has a ‘spider’ immobiliser fitted that is one suspected as it controls the fuelling, starting intermittently is a symptom that its faulty.
Don't worry as a bypass of that spider circuit is easy. 🙂

Of course if its mechanical i’m lost, diesel engines aren’t my thing.

Dont bother hes been booted off the forum. ;)

Very disagreeable views.
I had a wee private convo with the bloke at the beginning. Can't betray what he said but you'd need a torch and a miner's helmet to find him,he is so far up himself.

So do give a link or tell me where on the forum he offended. Love to see atwonker getting his just desserts!!!!
