so a few questions for the more experienced out there

we have this bit in the car, ok its a cubby hole for stuff? or is it missing something, why is there a hole underneath?

next, when I bought the car, they guy had another center console which he gave me, it has the switches for electric windows on, which is a bonus as I hate the position they are in on the dash, but of course I reckon theres some fixing brackets missing from the bigger console, at the moment good old plastic ties are holding the back in, anyone have a picture of what/how it should be fixed

also fixing the rear of the console, I reckon there must of been a rubber joint? holding the 2 pieces together??? as cant see any other way to fix, so it maybe good old silicone sealant and leave overnight to set?

now onto removing cigarette socket from old console, does it unscrew from the top or is it sprung bits that need pushing in? as the underside looks too big to push back through the hole

and lastly, the light on the diesel clock appears to be bust, how easy to change? are they the push in type? are they simple to replace, access via front or rear of dash?

cheers all

when i upgraded to the bigger console my back just pushed in and it was done

also you should have a bracket for the console to screw to i did just make on up as i left it in the car aswell but metal bent to shape then marked up to drill in correct place then used little nuts and bolts not had a problem with mine since

i also rewires my window switches in which took all of bout an hour to do then just blanked the dash holes up and job done

The roof console area is a **** sunglasses holder design, but I have a custom fabricated 6 switch plinth in there and durite map light.

I think you are asking how to get the lighter out well you have to pull the metal bit out most of the way then this allows the plastic part to go inwards towards the centre ,then it can be pulled out , also the plastic part that it fits into if that is taken out of the centre console then you will see 2 screws at the bottom , that hold the console in place hope this helps.

ok, after an hour or so of fiddling with the cigarette lighter, finally got it sorted, easy once figured out, so heres my easy way for anyone else that may use the "search" function and find this page

looking inside the silver bit, you'll set two little horizontal oblong cut outs, these have the plastic clips in, but they can't be pushed out, so take a decent set of mole grips, lightly hold the back of the silver socket bit, and twist 90 degrees, the internal silver bit will now push out, along with the plastic outer, on refitting, line up the two oblong cut outs with the plastic clips that hold the base into the console, use a wedge of wood an push the silver bit back in, sorted

Can get you a panel made up and wire it for you if you want? I have (from L to R) front spots, left, right and rear spots, then front facing ambers and main bar. On the standard 4 switch panel to my knee, I have my front bumper driving spots and interior footwell lights, and on where the cruise control switch would be, I have the button recoated in red and it runs my red portion of my lightbar.
