Scotland,
Ah well guys and girls, she's been too well behaved of late. So after a couple of warnings to check coolant, I decided to face the rain and do it when I got home tonight.
I pulled the handle and *snap* , and that was all. So, I now can't get the bonnet to open. Which leads to 2 questions:
1, does anyone know the part number? The new lrcat is not forthcoming
And
2, how do I get bonnet open, as local AA approved garage owner is refusing to come out to AA call, as " he's fed up with them continually giving him too much to do" 🤦‍♀️

I don't particularly want to leave it to chance about coolant, even though I've probably only done 20 miles or so since first warning.

Thanks in advance

If you take the metal plate off and pull the rubber trim away you can remove the plastic trim over the bonnet release. Once removed you can get a pair of pliers on the cable at the back of the lever.

Brilliant. Thank you. I had a very quick look tonight when it happened, but didn't want to pull at anything I might break, and didn't think to look at metal strip.. I'll have a look in the daylight to see if I can get the bits out without too much hassle.
😁👍

Taking the plate off is easy you just pull it up, it's lining up the plastic clips again that's the fun bit :)

Done, off, and opened. The cable has snapped right at the lever end. Which is why it sounded and felt like the handle had broken somewhere. New cable ordered. For anyone who may need number it is FPF500040. Which supersedes FPF500020.

Sooooooo, I am sitting worried again 😔 When mechanic opened bonnet the other day, before I could say anything he poured pink coolant in. She swallowed up quite a bit before the little thing popped up ( yes @Mark Piercy ooo'er misses 😉) I know there is a right and a wrong coolant for these, but have never quite worked out which, as I am not usually the one who does it.
Went out yesterday, drove a couple of miles and "check coolant" chimed up. I don't have a leak, as below vehicle has been unusually dry for a Land Rover/Range Rover product. I opened coolant lid and float is still happily 'up'.
Question is: was it correct coolant or has the mechanic buggered things up?
Thanks in advance folks.

There is a thing about mixing coolant, some coolants that are universal can be mixed but there are limits. The coolant sensor in the disco 3' and 4's are known to absorb coolant after a while and sink. Not sure if this is the case on l322's as well. If in doubt over the coolant, have the coolant changed. 😉

Thanks. Problem comes with the 'fact' that draining doesn't remove it completely. Also if he has buggered up my radiator then he should be absorbing the cost.
Oh, and , I still need to add more and don't know which to order. 🤷‍♀️

Still add more coolant? I thought it had been topped up??
