interesting concept

ive noticed that most series landys have knackered or damaged tubs and have been watching this guy for a while now and came across an interesting concept roughly 9 mins into this particular episode

wich leads me to the question is it possible to shorten a deffender rear tub to fit an 88" series 3 landy and would it be worth the effort thats if theyre similar enough to work on a series landy

ps i like the trick with the soap for softening the alloy (verry nifty idea )

Dunno. But if you ar going to be chopping and making good a 90 tub... why not just properly repair the 88!

i dont have an 88 landy and im seriously considering building one from ground up off a genuine 1973 series 2a 88 chassis with the full id

it seems deffender 90 tubs are easier to obtain in good condition than any series ones
due to them being a little less thin on the ground as it were

just to note they stopped making 2a's in 71....there's a few that didn't get reg til 72

just goes to show that assumption is the mother of all fookups as i was told it was a series (not wich one ) and assumed it was 2a due to its year

i assumed and fooked up (sorry chaps)

pretty close guess though

I've just watched 11 episodes of that back to back

! Nice truck though!

... given me a couple of ideas too, although the suspension is a bit much for what I want!
