hello all,

Well I fear I'm going to have too much time on hands over the Christmas period so was think of retro fitting another intercooler to my 1994 tdi...I have a small selection of intercoolers to hand taken from some other machines (mainly Caterpillar products)

I understand that the cooler the inlet air the better the combustion....we all know the tdi's and Dturbos love a nice cold frostie morning and drive really well.....I was just wondering, if I was to increase the intercooler size and may even front mount it, would I need the pump setting on the beast.....

I have retro fitted a front mounted intercooler to a Peugeot 205DT many years ago at college and changed nothing, and it made a considerable difference to performance...but this was a car that never had one fitted in the first place.......I have over the year tweaked several injector pump max fuel setting, and manually increased the boost via the wastegate setting on Dturbo engines just for fun (always needed to reset for Mr MOT)

I have made answered my own question 'no, no need unless I wish to gain more'...but just though I would through this one out to everyone else...maybe someone has already done it, intercooler, pump playing etc....is it even worth doing it......

Just thinking about doing it for sh!ts and giggle's......

Thanks

H
