About 18 months ago I replaced the intercooler to manifold hose on my 06 TD4. Its the one with the sensor on it. I've noticed over the last few weeks that a bit of oil is coming out around the sensor. Not loads - but its got slightly worse recently. The hose isn't a genuine LR one, I think its a Britpart one.

Is this something to worry about? Should I change hose for a better make?

Oil in the intercooler hoses is 'normal'. If excessive, consider changing your crankcase breather filter or, better still, swapping it for the uprated BMW cyclone breather.

If it's Britpart, and rubber, it's crap, in my experience.

Get someone to rev the engine while you listen/watch for leaks. It sounds like you have a leak at the sensor fitting. Your sensor and plug may need a clean, and maybe a new seal.

Thanks for the replies. As soon as it stops raining I'll take a look. I've got the BMW crankcase breather in the shed ready to put on at the next service. I replaced the small hose at the same time as this one, it was Britpart too and lasted six months. If its had it I'll replace it. As the leak as got worse over time I'm guessing its probably the seal.

Thanks again
