Insurance!

I'm 22, have a series II SWB diesel land rover fitted with a 2.5 90 engine (without turbo) - and am having difficulty getting reasonable insurance for it - can anyone offer any help?

Really good for young drivers with classic cars on limited milage policies. I (think) they insist on being parked off the road though, so a driveway and/or garage is a must!

Im 18 and when i was insured on my 90 a few months ago the nfu wanted a figure in the region of around £450 - £500 to be insured third party, not as a named driver (it worked out cheaper my dad being the named driver on my 90, even though I drove it more).

Fialing that, do a search theres pleanty of threads on the topic

Footman James did mine on a S3 LtWt 24V for £90.

I'm 33 but all my no claims is on my main car, so that's not bad IMO. Well worth a try.

Careful, the named driver needs to drive it more as in the event of an accident the in-sewer-ants company may get a bit ****y with you. And you just advertised the fact on the tinternet....

Well that was during the summer where my job involved a 40 mile round trip each day to work (in which i did cover more miles than my dad), although now im at uni my dad'l be clocking up many more miles than I covered in that time, so it easily balances out over the course of the year. And plus Im taken off the policy during term time so the NFU do have proof I only drive it a limited ammount of time.

thats OK then, just worth bearing in mind. You don't want to pay £££'s and then find out you aren't covered.
