The insurance on my 110 is due. After much searching have found the Kwick
Fit is half the cost of any one else.

One thing concerns me though..... I have a 10 seat (2 front ,3mid & 2x3 on
benches) in the 110 it is not a CSW. and the benches are factory fitted. The
call handler could not get his head round the fact that the landy has 10
seats. went off to speak to supervisor and on return said that all was OK -
but the certificate will say 5 seats!

Am I worrying over nothing or should I be concerned and try someone else?

Paul

Forget it you're not insured for more than 5 passengers. Don't deal with
Mickey Mouses, first question I always ask is "did you know it has 12 seats
?" they usually decline as they treat them as mini buses.
Funnily enough the same happened when I asked for a quote from the official
LR site "SPECIALISTS" who did'nt even know what a defender was !!

I agree with Hirsty's. It's best not to take chances with insurance.
Give NFU Mutual a try. You can find your local branch from their website.
I've insured my 110 and Series II with them for years. They're always very
helpful,
they know the difference between a Series 1 and a Range Rover and are pretty
competitive too.

So have I and when I have had to claim ( twice ) they have been excellent
and very efficient, no messing straight forward and in one case got my
uninsured excess back for me. Both were not my fault I hasten to add.
Each quote I have tried with others has always been more. They dont insure
under 25, however as you have 10 seats that must mean you have joined us
older types :))

the nfu wont insure anyone living in certain postcodes. i know, i tried.
(and they want immobilisers fitted).

try confused.com for loads of quotes from one single broker.

Hi Paul, if your insurance says 5 seats get it changed. Your car can carry
10 people, imagine if (god forbid) you had an acident with 9 passengers and
they want to claim on your insurance (big money) Your insurance company will
laugh at you and state that its only a 5 seater and you conned them and then
you may have a personal law suit against you.

Thanks for the info. - I wnet back to Kwick-Fit and this time they with drew
the quote - saying that the company would not quote for "commercial"
vehicles with more thatn 7 seats. So have gon with NFU - not much more money
AND fully comp to boot.
Once again many thanks. I was having sleepless nights thinking about rthe
law suites.............
