Jeez I moaned about the cost of mine to the insurance company this year and I am only paying £183.00 this year fully comp with no claims protection on a TD4 3 yrs old.

I feel really sorry for you as £4680 is a huge amount of money.

There has to be a reason for this other than your age.

Is the motor quite new?

Do you have points on your licence?

Have you had a claim on your insurance?

I can understand why it is quite a bit higher for teenagers and those in their early 20's as I bet not many of us were angels on the road at that age, I certainly wasn't (the stories I could tell)

But what they want is plain silly if you have a clean licence, no claims and the motor isn't to new.

Get you hippo,s ownership changed so that it is owned by someone who has max no claims then have your-self put as a named driver.Direct line will let you build up your own nc even as a named driver.I had to do this for my son after he had just passed his test.Hope this helps.

That was with Churchill insurance, that was just the insurance. I also had legal cover that was another £20 plus I took the Full breakdown cover as well. (well it is a freelander you know)

What age are you though, I am 36

usually if an insurance company quotes that much they really don't want the business.. if you have bin insured by them before they are legally required to give you a quote even if they think the risk is too high. so what they do is quote way over the odds so you'll **** off else where.

course there could be other reasons its so high

327 For me with churchill, 36, full no claims... maybe its the year or the model of freelander that makes it differ ? TD4 on a 03 plate..
i live in a low crime area of surrey, i thought insurances was cheaper down here ! obviously not

is it still worth taking breakdown cover on a TD4 , surely they are the most reliable of them all
