Hiya,
does anyone know what the difference in insurance price is between an SWB and LWB series 3. And how many seats do you say that you have if ur insuring an LWB. I heard that insuring the Long Wheelbase ones can be tricky. Is this true. I would be 17, so kinda important :D .

Any help much appreciated, thanks

aye the lwb with the extra rear seats can cause problems with insurance co,s.
take out the side facing seats, if fitted, and tell em its just a 2, 3 or 5 seater.
it may work.

probably dont matter to a 17 yr old, they dont like you anyways.

yep they dont like us 17 year olds i tried insuring myself on the landy me and me dad have got waste of time sum wont insure me if they do it is £2000 upwards yes £2000. so i got a little old polo mk3 for the while.

Not strictly legal but, get your Dad to insure it and put you on as named driver, till you're a bit older.

i am 23 the cheapest place i found was lancaster insurance.it was only £120 under my dads name.aslong as your dads the regestered owner

Some insurance companies allow named drivers to accrue NCB as well, Direct Line for a start, but there must be others too.

My son is 18, he has his Series 2 swb (was not asked how many seats) insured with Footman James third party only for £533. He previously had a Hillman Imp rally car insured with them for £330. There is no no claims discount with classic policies but he will be able to prove that he has hopefully a few years no claims for when he is 21 to carry over to a 90.

The policy is in his own name, you need to speak to the classic department not the normal business, you cannot do it via the web.

On my dads insurance,
Im 22 (with naughty convictions of failing to stop and dangerous driving)
Got banned for two years when i was 17.

Got a quote for £550 for my series 2a

But it was only £130 to be a named driver on my dads.

Although. N NCB!

Carl.

i've been insured with sabre (through the aa) this year - i must say they have been excellent (mind you, i'm old verging on ancient); i was in two accidents three days apart in october and they sorted everything out, paid me the full insured value of my landy, and gave me it back for 75 quid without scrapping it. (hence the need to weld dumb irons...)

130 quid a year, fully comp.
