late to the thread! sorry. i use lanchaster insurance. where i was getting quoted 800 fully comp they knocked it down to 400 fully comp, it also insures me for offroading and i can leave the contry for 90 days.
 
I am also 17, and just got a mini, 1.3, own policy, £661...

Mate(17) has a defender(i couldnt afford the car), and he pays £1200 with footman james, own policy, TPFT, i think it has to be atleast 15 or 20 yrs old....
